Meet the Team

Pauline Roby – Project Officer
I have lived in Linslade for about 15 years. Prior to this role I worked for Luton Borough Council for 5 years setting up a Cycle Promotions team and a Cycle Training team, which was an exciting and challenging introduction to the world of Cycle Promotions!
I have had some involvement with many groups and organisations in Leighton-Linslade area, which is proving useful in getting the word out about all the Cycle Promotions planned for Leighton-Linslade and Heath and Reach.
I am looking forward to assisting setting up the Cycle Training team here to work with schools, groups, families and individuals, providing cycle training to suit people’s lifestyles; supporting the promotions work that will take place; and working with local businesses to encourage people to commute to work by bike. It will be great to see people enjoying cycling around Leighton-Linslade – getting fit, saving money and adding to the strong sense of community already prevalent in the area.

Allison Jeavons – Schools Officer
Before moving to Leighton Buzzard in September, I lived in Bletchley and worked for Sustrans, a sustainable transport charity. My role was to encourage walking and cycling as part of everyday activity as well as promoting National Cycle Network Route 6. As part of this role, I established a free bike loan scheme for Milton Keynes working with young offenders to refurbish unwanted bikes, as well as running health walks, school bike sessions and guided rides. My interest in bikes also extends from our internet based business recycling retro and collectable bicycles for the restorer and bike enthusiast. In my new role as the Cycling Town Schools Officer, I’m most looking forward to working with children and empowering them to enjoy cycling confidently.

Alvina Farrow – Promotions Officer
I am a keen cyclist who has been cycling since the age of 12 using my bike as my main mode of transport. Unfortunately, when I passed my driving test, my bike got forgotten! About five years ago, in a bid to get fit, I reached for my bike once again. This led to new adventures for me, I joined a group of organised cyclists and started to use my bike all the time once again, not only for commuting, but also took my bike on holiday in order to explore further afield.
To me there are so many benefits from both a social view point and also health perspective, that I am pleased to have now joined the Leighton-Linslade Cycling Team as the Cycling Promotions Officer, so that I can encourage others to enjoy the benefits of Cycling.
