1. BuzzCycles Sunday bike ride – 2nd May
Starting at 10am. Meet at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre for a ride along the canal towpath to Bluebells Café, Marsworth. (Please note that this ride will be on some uneven surfaces and is not suitable to for young children).
2. Visit GoCycle at Leighton Buzzard’s May Fayre 3rd May
Why not dust down your bike and cycle to the May Fayre this year? There will be additional cycle parking at the GoCycle stand and Dr Bike will be on hand to check your bike over. GoCycle will have all the latest information regarding cycle training and you can test your performance & fitness levels on our Watt bikes.
3. GoCycle to the Gym day on 6th May at Curves Fitness Centre for Women, Waterbourne walk (near Waitrose)
Free Dr Bike from 9 to 11am, and 5 til 6.30pm
Free advice and information on cycling in the area
Free bike ride from 11am til 12noon – all welcome to participate
4. Bike Maintenance Courses – Get signed up!
MBRS are offering, on alternating months. Basic and Intermediate Courses include the following...
Basic includes:- Intermediate includes:-
o Basic safety check o Front wheel Hubs
o Front and Rear puncture fix o Freewheel & Cassette removal / inspection / re-assembly
o Tuning gears o Bottom Bracket & Chainsets
o Brake adjustment o Wheel Truing, Spoke Replacement and Spoke Tension
o Replacing a gear or brake cable o Headsets & Stems
o Own bike Q&A o Roadside/Trail side ‘quickfixes’ & ‘getmehomes’
Both Courses are supported by hardcopy handouts with step by step instructions and diagrams for each attendee.

The courses are held at Eggington Village Hall, High Street, Eggington. LU7 9PD. From 11am until 2pm on the following dates...

5. Go Ride open coaching sessions on Saturday mornings for young people aged 9 upwards from 10th April onwards.
The BuzzCycles Community Cycling Club is offering Go Ride coaching sessions for young people every Saturday morning at Mentmore Park, Linslade (meet at the pavilion). The sessions start at 10am and run for up to 2 hours. They will be led by the British Cycling Go Ride Coach Barry Gilzean. The sessions cost £2 for members and £3 for non-members. Bikes and helmets may be provided on arrangement. Demand will be high so advanced booking is recommended – contact BarryGilzean@britishcycling.org.uk.
As the club becomes established there will be additional sessions specifically designed for younger children plus training rides for adults.
6. Thursday night is BuzzCycles Community Cycling Club night
Meeting at Mentmore Park Pavillion 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm up and coming events..
29th April Adult Cycle Skills (Go Ride for grown ups ) with British Cycling Coach Barry Gilzean. Join us for a this fun, informal activity: learn and practice new skills to help improve general riding and cycle sport pursuits
13th May Test your performance & fitness levels on our Watt bikes, ready for the beginning of the cycling season and see how you improve over the coming year
20th May Guest speaker followed by gentle leisure ride (Speaker to be confirmed)

7. Cycle Training for Adults
Adult Education Cycle Training evening classes on 6 Wednesday evenings
9 June 2010, from 19.30 - 21.30, a 6 week course
Meeting point outside Riverside office, Bridge Street, Leighton Buzzard.

8. Get Back Into … Cycling 10 Week course on Wednesday mornings.
The Get Back Into programme is for anyone who is 16 or older and wants to take up a more active lifestyle again, with other people like themselves. Sessions are relaxed and fun, led by experienced coaches and instructors, and are a gentle introduction back into the activity. Team BEDS&LUTON have run over 100 different Get Back Into sessions to date, and have seen nearly 3,000 people start playing sport or being more physically active again!
The Get Back Into … Cycling programme is a great way to rediscover the fun of riding a bike and is ideal for anyone current lacking confidence and who enjoy participating in activities with a friendly and supportive group.
The sessions start at 9.30 and run for two hours over 10 consecutive weeks starting on Wednesday 28 April. Each session starts from Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre

If you would like to borrow a bike for this course, don't forget that we have a range of bikes for FREE long term loan. Please ring the GoCycle office to pick one up before the course starts.
9. Dr Bike at the Market – Tuesday 11th & 18th May 8 til 4pm
GoCycle’s Dr Bike will have a stall by the Market Cross in the Town Centre on Tuesday 13th April. He will be offering a free bike checks and advice on how to maintain your bike. No need to book, just bring your bike along. You can also pick up a free GoCycle cycle maps from the stall.
10. Wheelie Wednesday – 12th May 2010, 12.30pm
Our next Wheelie Wednesday lunchtime cycle ride takes place on Wednesday 14th April. Meet at the Market Cross at 12.30 for a guided cycle excursion lasting approximately one hour.
11. Sunday afternoon Bike Rides
Why not join a group of non-serious cyclists for a Sunday afternoon bike ride. You can join others for pre-ride refreshment at the Golden Bell Pub in Church Square from 1.30 onwards or arrive in time for the 2pm start. No one is left behind on these short and varied rides around Leighton Buzzard and Linslade. The group decides a route to suit everyone turning up on the day. All abilities are welcome.
