1. School Holiday Programme

Go Ride Cycle Skills session for families
GoCycle are running go ride skills sessions especially for families on Thursday evening, between 6.30 – 8.30 pm on the 3rd June 2010. All ages and abilities welcome. Meet at the pavilion at Mentmore Road Recreation Ground. Refreshments will be available.

2. BuzzCycles Sunday Bike Ride – 6th June
BuzzCycles will be leading a ride around Leighton-Linslade Churches on Sunday 6th June meeting at 10.00 am outside Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre. This ride is suitable for families and is led lead by Chris Stevenson.

3. Coming soon … Secure Cycle Parking at Leighton Buzzard Railway Station
Secure Cycle Parking will shortly be available at Leighton Buzzard Railway Station. The Cycle Hub will provide secure, attended cycle parking for a small fee, as well as cycle maintenance and refreshment for users.

4. Cycle Training for Adults
Adult Education Cycle Training evening classes on Wednesday evenings
This six week course starts on 9th June 2010 with sessions running from 19.30 – 21.30
Meeting point outside Riverside office, Bridge Street, Leighton Buzzard.

5. Cycle Sports Coaching Sessions every Saturday morning
British Cycling qualified coaches are at Mentmore Park every Saturday to run cycle training sessions. Disciplines covered include BMX, Mountain Biking, Cyclocross and Track.
The sessions are aimed at young people aged seven upwards, though competent cyclists of younger ages can be accommodated. All abilities welcome. Some of the sessions will be held at specialist local venues, such as MK BMX and the Racing Track at Welling Velodrome.
If your child is interested on cycling then these sessions are a must. Call Allison on 07854 692274 for more information.
Thursday night is BuzzCycles Community Cycling Club night (Adults only)
Meet at Mentmore Park Pavillion at 6:30 pm. Ride starts at 6.45 pm
6. Dr Bike at the Market – Tuesday 8th June 8 – 4pm
GoCycle’s Dr Bike will have a stall at the Market Cross on Tuesday 8th June. He will be offering free bike checks and advice on how to maintain your bike. No need to book, just bring your bike along. You can also pick up a free GoCycle cycle map from the stall.
7. Wheelie Wednesday – 9th June 2010, 12.30pm
Our next Wheelie Wednesday lunchtime cycle ride takes place on Wednesday 9th June. Meet at the Market Cross at 12.30 for a guided cycle excursion lasting approximately one hour. An opportunity to get out of the office and enjoy the sunshine!
8. Dr Bike – St Barnabas Village Fete, Linslade – 12 June
GoCycle will be in attendance providing information and advice, along with our very own Dr Bike, who will be offering free bike checks throughout the duration of the Fete, so why not cycle down and leave the car at home!
9. Evening family bike ride – 17th June, 6.30 pm
Join us for a family bike ride around Leighton-Linslade. Meeting at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre at 6.30 pm and we will show you a local cycle route, and give you an opportunity to meet other families cycling in Leighton-Linslade. An ideal opportunity for all the family to come along and have a fun, free evening out.

10. Dr Bike & Bikers Breakfast at Cherrycourt Way,
Friday 18th June 8am – 4pm
Dr Bike will be outside Lindals, Cherrycourt Way, offering FREE Bike Checks, FREE Cyclists’ Snacks and FREE information/advice – an ideal opportunity to leave the car at home, enjoy the good weather and cycle to work. Go on give it a go!
11. 20th June (Sunday) Partnering Ride with Cycle Aylesbury
Join us as we celebrate the launch of Bike Week 2010 with a partnering ride with Cycle Aylesbury. We will meet at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre at 11.00 am and take a leisurely bike ride along the canal towpath to Marsworth, stopping at Bluebell’s Cafe for lunch (or bring a picnic if you prefer) where we will meet up with the Cycle Aylesbury crew. You can then choose to make your own way back or join us at around 2.00 pm for the return journey along the canal towpath and back to Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre.

12. Bike Week (20th – 27th June 2010)
Bike Week is the UK's largest mass participation cycling event and provides an annual opportunity to promote cycling as a source of fitness and fun, not to mention an alternative form of transport. This year, Bike Week 2010 is encouraging everyone to 'get more out of life'- by getting on your bikes, exploring your local community and finding out just how convenient cycling is for all those short trips we make each day. 13. Billington Park Sports and Cycling Festival
Come along to the Sports and Cycling Festival at Billington Park on 4th July 11 – 3pm and have a fabulous fun day out. There will be a number of sporting activities taking place throughout the day which you will have the opportunity to get involved in. There will be a Fun Zone, Health Zone, Family Zone and lots of information about local clubs and activities.
There will also be a sponsored relay bike ride on a quarter of a mile circuit, off-road. Each participating team will need a mascot that they must move continually around the track for 4 hours. We are recruiting 10 teams of up 20 people per team; register your interest by contacting GoCycle@LeightonLinslade-tc.gov.uk Teams will choose their own charities for who they wish to raise money for.
