1.    Bike Maintenance Course – 26th September 2009


Expert tuition is available from a CyTech qualified mechanic with over 11 years experience in the bike industry, MBRS still have places left on the above course which will be running from 10.30 am – 1.30 pm, at Vandyke Youth Club, Vandyke Road, Leighton Buzzard.  The course will cover items such as, fixing a front and rear puncture, tuning gears, range and positioning, tuning brakes, positioning and toe-in, replacing gear for brake cables and an opportunity to ask any specific questions regarding your own bike for further information and to book a place on this course email enquiries@mbrsuk.com  telephone  07736674410 or visit the MBRS website for further information www.mbrsuk.com

2. Cycle Fridays

If you commute by bike to the railway station don’t forget to pick up your free Biker’s Breakfast this Friday 18th September, GoCycle will be offering cyclists the chance to refuel between 6.00 and 8.30 am.  This promotion will run each Friday up to and including Friday 16th October – so why not jump on your bike and enjoy a breakfast on us!

3. Dr Bike – Cherrycourt Way  22nd & 24th September

GoCycle will be offering free bike checks to all employees as part of our bid to support staff that commute to work by bike, or want to use their bike for fitness.  This service is FREE and there is no need to book, just bring your bike along between 8.30am and 2pm and our qualified mechanic will check your bike over  and carry out minor repairs on the spot.  They will offer advice and information on more major works.  For more details email: gocycle@leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk  

4. Dr Bike Days at local schools


GoCycle will be holding free Dr Bike Days at Leighton-Linslade and Heath and Reach schools as part of the Cycling Town’s initiative to ensure all students, parents and school staff have bikes that are roadworthy, which is the first step towards getting more people cycling, more often, more safely.   

Dr Bike will carry out minor adjustments and repairs on the spot and offer advice for more complex repairs, as well as flagging up potential problems and giving tips on how best to look after your bike.

Following the free Dr Bike Day’s GoCycle will be delivering Bikeability cycle training to each school.  To find out when Dr Bike is due at your school, visit our website at www.gocycleleightonlinslade.org or email gocycle@leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk

5. Women on Wheels


This is a call to all ladies who fancy getting out and about on their bikes.   We can put you in touch with like mined females who meet as a group in a bid to get fit.  They meet up regularly on a Tuesday morning in Leighton-Linslade and enjoy a morning of leisure cycling.  So get into gear and email:  gocycle@leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk for further information!

6. Cycle Sundays – 4th October 2009


Sign up for one of our two bike rides; there is a choice of a short ride and a longer ride on the above date, for further information email gocycle@leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk

7. Market Stall – 13th October 2009

GoCycle’s Dr Bike will have a Market Stall in the Town Centre on Tuesday 13th October.  We will be offering FREE bike checks to members of the public, no need to book, just bring your bike along.  

8. Wheelie Wednesday – 14th October 2009


A reminder, our next Wheelie Wednesday will take place on 14th October. Meet at the Market Cross Leighton Buzzard at 12.30 for a guided ride lasting approx one hour.

9. Free Commuter Cycle Training – 17th October 2009


GoCycle are offering FREE cycle training for commuters.   If you currently use your bike to cycle to work or to the train station or are thinking of starting to cycle, sign up for our FREE Cycle Training gocycle@leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk and we will soon have you up to speed!  (Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment).

10. October 2009 Half-Term Activities
